As an alternative to a private foundation, an affiliation with Triangle Community Foundation can reduce administrative and regulatory burdens, allow you greater tax benefits and enable you to use the services of Triangle Community Foundation staff. A supporting organization is a hybrid between a private foundation and a publicly supported charity. It is a separate incorporated entity with its own board of directors, but linked to Triangle Community Foundation. Our Foundation staff will assist with grantmaking, investment and administration (supporting organizations must be valued at $1,000,000 or greater).

To speak to someone about creating a supporting organization, please contact the Foundation’s Development Team or call us at 919-474-8370.
