Triangle Community Foundation to release results of nonprofit survey
Area nonprofits share effects of economic downturn and what they need to survive
Durham, N.C. (June 18, 2009) – Triangle Community Foundation will release results from a survey of nonprofits leaders on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Retool for 2010: Building a Brighter Future for Triangle Nonprofits. The event will be held at Durham’s American Tobacco Campus in Bay 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with over 200 participants expected.
The online survey was sent in April to nonprofit organizations in Wake, Durham, Orange and Chatham counties to determine their needs and get suggestions about how they might be met in order to quickly assist them.
Of the 251 respondents, 83% have seen increased demand for their services while their revenue streams and resources are decreasing.
“With more than 5200 nonprofits in the Triangle region, many are going to have to get creative about how they collaborate and share resources in order to survive,” said Andrea Bazán, Triangle Community Foundation president.
The half-day workshop, organized by Triangle Community Foundation, will provide nonprofit leaders with access to expert advice about strengthening their organizations and accessing federal stimulus dollars.
Registration is open at http://www.trianglecf.org. Cost is $15 per person, including lunch and materials.
