In addition, the Foundation announced a new slate of officers and additional members to its Leadership Council.
“One of the Foundation’s greatest assets is its Board leadership. We are fortunate to have such dynamic leaders from the business and nonprofit communities who have chosen to assume a leadership role at the Foundation,” said Andrea Bazán, Triangle Community Foundation president.
John Idler, President and General Manager of WTVD-TV, handles responsibilities for the Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville market and its ancillary businesses including ABC-11.com. Pat Nathan founded the Dress for Success Triangle NC affiliate in April of 2008. Nathan was awarded the 2010 Durham County Martin Luther King “Keeper of the Dream Award” for this work, which promotes economic independence for disadvantaged women. She has been active in a variety of organizations addressing social and environmental equity. She founded the first European chapter of Women in Technology International (WITI) in England in 2001 and a second in Ireland in 2002. With a successful leadership record of 24 years in the electronics industry, Nathan, a former Dell executive, has also worked at Data General Inc. (EMC) and at N.C. State University. A graduate of Meredith College, she also attended N.C. State University’s master’s program in statistics. She serves as the chair of the board for Dress for Success Triangle. She previously served as vice-chair of the board of Sustainable NC and managed the Dell Foundation as part of her Corporate Social Responsibility role before retiring from Dell.
In addition, three former Board members have been appointed to the Foundation Leadership Council:
