Our Community Grantmaking Program is an open, competitive, discretionary process through which we provide funding to Triangle-based nonprofits. The Foundation is not currently accepting applications for this program.
Other competitive funding opportunities funded through Donor Advised and Committee Advised Funds include:
Biogen Idec Foundation: provides grants to schools and nonprofits in the Triangle to support science and education programs and projects at the elementary, middle, or high-school levels.
Borchardt Fund: supports programs that provide international travel opportunities for Triangle educators to learn and gain experience in technology applications.
GlaxoSmithKline Impact Awards: funding awarded to nonprofits providing access to healthcare and setting an outstanding example.
Raising Voices: A Youth Choral Program: supports creative choral music initiatives for Triangle youth.
The Art of Giving (TAG): a collective of women from the Triangle with a mission to fund issues that affect women.
Grants are also distributed through the Foundation’s donor-advised funds at the recommendation of the funds’ advisor(s). While there is no formal application process for grants from donor-advised funds, donors from time to time will consult Foundation staff when recommending grants. To assist the Foundation in sharing community needs with fund advisors, we advise nonprofits to complete our Organization Information Form.
