As Gift Planning Advisor, Robin Barefoot serves the legal, accounting, tax and financial communities as liaison to the Foundation. Her outreach is intended to enhance the advisor’s understanding of philanthropy generally, promote the resources available through the Foundation, and provide technical assistance in structuring current or deferred gifts to meet the needs of their clients.

Robin has practiced law in Durham since 1996, most recently with the Stubbs Cole firm where her practice areas included estate planning, administration, elder law, corporations, contracts and real property. She served as staff attorney with Investors Title Insurance Company in their Chapel Hill office from 1989 to 1996. In that role, Robin was a frequent author & lecturer on real estate and title insurance.

Robin received her undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1980 and her law degree cum laude in 1985 from NCCU School of Law. She was admitted to practice in 1985. Robin has been a past board member of the North Carolina Therapeutic Riding Center presently operating out of Mebane, NC and a charter member of the Durham Speaker’s Bureau of the Food Bank CENC. She volunteers regularly through the Durham Rescue Mission, Meals on Wheels and is very active in ministry through Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Bahama, NC.
