TCF’s Philanthropic Services Staff

When you established your fund at TCF, you created an easy and effective way to achieve your philanthropic goals. Your contributions are already hard at work creating change and you can continue using your fund to recommend grants to organizations you’ve already supported.

But there’s a lot more TCF can do for you. Our Philanthropic Services staff work by your side, first to understand your philanthropic goals and interests, and then to identify grantmaking opportunities from the more than 5,000 nonprofits serving the Triangle. Increasingly, the Foundation is at work with families wishing to involve their children in philanthropy and exploring ways to involve multiple generations in giving. You can tap into our experience and resources for developing family philanthropy—something that takes its shape from the unique interests and dynamics of each family.

Our core service is grantmaking. We provide streamlined grant recommendation requests, research on nonprofit grant eligibility, and customized strategies for grantmaking.

Triangle Donors Forum

Triangle Donors Forum was created in 1983 to bring funders, trustees and staff from private, family, corporate and community foundations throughout the Triangle together to share ideas, best practices, grantmaking and networking opportunities. Members gather four to five times a year for an invitation-only lunch and program, which usually includes a formal presentation or panel discussion with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.

Annual Meeting

TCF’s Annual Meeting is a celebration of effective philanthropy at work in our community. The event features a presentation of the Foundation’s key achievements and plans for the coming year, followed by a reception for smaller, interactive conversations. It is designed as a forum for discussing issues that affect how we live and work.

At all times, TCF staff are here to assist you with your charitable giving. Well after the initial creation of your giving strategy, we remained engaged with personalized service and planning to ensure you are always getting the most out of your giving.
